Introduction
The Related Data section contains datasets that are derived from the Census Outputs or are produced by the Census organisations to aid use of the census. many of the related datasets are produced by academics and deposited with the CDU for dissemination within the community.
Deprivation Scores
Calculating measures of deprivation is perhaps one of the commonest uses of census data. The CDU holds a number of different types of deprivation scores that have been submitted by census users to whom we are grateful. Also in the Deprivation Scores section can be found links to other measures of deprivation such as the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD).
Area Classifications
The Area Classifications are ward and district level socio-economic profiles derived from census variables that give a quick description of an area.
Area Master File
The Area Master File is a look-up table relating to the four levels of 1991 Census geography in England and Wales (counties, districts, wards and EDs) to other statistical, administrative, electoral, postal and morphological spatial units.
