The Census Dissemination Unit (CDU) is pleased to announce the relaunch of its website at h,http://cdu.mimas.ac.uk/.
The CDU is one of the units of the ESRC Census Programme, and is based within Mimas at the University of Manchester. It provides access to the aggregate statistics outputs from recent censuses via its Casweb application, as well as support for their use, free of charge to members of UK Higher and Further Education institutions. It also provides a range of census-related services and datasets, such as the GeoConvert geographical matching and data conversion tool, and Experian demographic information, and has a role in championing the requirements of the academic community within the census process.
The new website aims to consolidate existing CDU web content, together with newly developed content within a simple, accessibility-compliant site design, with a clear focus on the support of CDU services. The redeveloped website contains improved news and FAQ sections, and has an increased range of links to external sources of information.
