LCT Project Home

Welcome to the Linking Censuses Through Time (LCT) interface. This interface provides access to data from the 1971, 1981 and 1991 Censuses of Population for Great Britain. The full range of Small Area Statistics can be retrieved for a wide variety of geographies. Data for 1991 are available in raw form or corrected for undercounting.

By accessing and using the data, users agree to the following conditions. The information shall not be used in any way to attempt to obtain or derive information relating specifically to an identifiable person or household (personal census information), nor claim to have ontained or derived any such information. By section 8 (3) of the Census Act 1920 (as amended by Census (Confidentiality) Act (1991) it is an offence for any person to disclose to another any personal census information, which he knows has been disclosed in contravention of the Act.

At the main LCT screen, users should select the census(es), geography and variables of their choice, and the program will return a comma-separated file containing the requested data. Please refer to the help pages before using the interface.
