The Census Dissemination Unit (CDU) at MIMAS, based within the University of Manchester, is pleased to announce the release of the 2001 Census Grid Square Dataset for Northern Ireland. This dataset was produced by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA), the agency with responsibility for carrying out the Census of Northern Ireland. It was officially released on the 8th of November, 2005. Further information about the dataset, as well as downloads of the dataset and accompanying information can be found on the CDU's new website at http://cdu.mimas.ac.uk/2001/ni/grid/
The Census Dissemination Unit has agreed with NISRA to provide the primary source of access to the Grid Square Dataset through its website. Unlike most of the CDU's other services, which are only available to members of UK Higher Education and Further Education institutions, access to the Grid Square Dataset and accompanying documentation is unrestricted, and available to all. However, the CDU can only guarantee to provide support for its use to UK HE and FE.
. Higher Education and Further Education users can obtain support for the use of the Grid Square Dataset, together with all other aspects of the CDU's services from the CDU Census Helpdesk -
