The Census Dissemination Unit (CDU) is based within Mimas at the University of Manchester.
The CDU provides free access and support to the UK Census Aggregate Statistics, Experian Mosaic Public Sector data, postcode lookup data and other derived data to the UK academic sector.
The CDU is part of the ESRC Census of Population Programme which is coordinated at census.ac.uk.
Accessing the Census data
Use Casweb our web interface to download census data or use GeoConvert for Postcode metadata and converting geographically coded data. Access is free to all academic users with a UK Federation userid, some extra online registration is required which you will be guided through.
